Oswaldo Hopkins was out of position in the 15 minute of play, and Von Marrero capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Von Marrero really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Kyle Friend's late challenge caught a Raritan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kyle Friend helped the player get up and apologised. 25 minutes into the match, ROCHES's goal looked a bit too open when Byron Spence came free, but Weston Barton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sam Massey during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in ROCHES's zone, Byron Spence stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Weston Barton came out of the goal and Byron Spence tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arthur Galvan's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 32ndth minute, Oswaldo Hopkins skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 33rdth minute of the game Von Marrero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Raritan's Oswaldo Hopkins was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Arthur Galvan came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the ROCHES fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arthur Galvan couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Raritan's Wilber Izturis got a free kick in the 40th minute. After recieving a nice pass, ROCHES's Maxwell Atwood tried to score from far away in the 41st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Oswaldo Hopkins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Von Marrero in the 46th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Von Marrero to strike the kick off in the second half. The attack was good, but when Arthur Galvan in the 58th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Kurtz in the 62nd minute of play forced ROCHES's goalkeeper Weston Barton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Byron Spence got free with Weston Barton in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Arthur Galvan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 72 minutes, Dwayne Theilacker mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ROCHES and the Raritan players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 72nd minute of the game. One of ROCHES:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Raritan:s goal. When the match had been going on for 74 minutes, Raritan's Rubin Archer got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Weston Barton. After having played for 77 minutes, Kyle Friend managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ROCHES's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kyle Friend was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
