Spectators: 5020 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 20) Jim Thorpe United's Craig Swift started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Craig Swift in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rusty Lowery prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 10 minutes, Garry Vogel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jim Thorpe United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Garry Vogel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 12 minutes into the game, Garry Vogel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Rusty Lowery was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 21st minute, Adrian Dickson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Trent Moyer was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Sanford Thacker. In the 23rd minute, Jim Thorpe United's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Kip Nguyen fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Wendell Belanger scored 1-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Trent Moyer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 31st minute of the match Chicago Red Bandits FC got a corner. Jim Thorpe United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sanford Thacker ran over to the corner to take the kick. Chicago Red Bandits FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sanford Thacker in the 33rd minute. At last the ball reached Rueben Johnston at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Jim Thorpe United. 2-1. After a rather tough play, Jim Thorpe United's Vince Zavala got a free kick in the 37th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Jim Thorpe United's goalkeeper Trent Moyer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wendell Belanger. When Wendell Belanger came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Chicago Red Bandits FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wendell Belanger couldn't finish the play. Vince Zavala hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Kip Nguyen scored 3-1 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Trent Moyer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kip Nguyen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Jim Thorpe United getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Brock Woodall hit a great ball. Kip Nguyen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Trent Moyer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. The supporters of Jim Thorpe United booed when Chicago Red Bandits FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rueben Johnston didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vince Zavala got his second yellow card in the match during the 63rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 64th minute, Vince Zavala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chicago Red Bandits FC's Sanford Thacker couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 65th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Jim Thorpe United. In the 69th minute, Wendell Belanger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Trent Moyer was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. 75 minutes into the game, Chicago Red Bandits FC's Wendell Belanger nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Trent Moyer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. Kip Nguyen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Trent Moyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
