Rolando Lamb guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. If Reginald Gallardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roger Martin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lloyd Mosher's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Lamb read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Brant Grant's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marty Lundy was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. After the first half FC VISELKA were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Brant Grant was the one to do the kick off. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roger Martin couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Carbondale booed when FC VISELKA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lloyd Mosher didn't get a good kick on the ball. Reginald Gallardo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rolando Lamb came out and tried to block the shot, but Reginald Gallardo slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 67th minute. If Reginald Gallardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roger Martin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Carbondale getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Ralph Strange hit a great ball. Reginald Gallardo came free with the goalkeeper in the 80th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Rolando Lamb could save by the left post. Roger Martin struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Rolando Lamb didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC VISELKA.
