After 15 minutes of play Buchanan's Trey Hoff was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Giovanni Walden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theron Chappelle in the 18th minute of play. Johnny Yu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Luciano Spivey made a huge save. In the 47th minute of the match Shaun Courtney sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Giovanni Walden skillfully saved the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Luciano Spivey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnny Yu in the 54th minute of play. When Johnny Yu came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Bandon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Johnny Yu couldn't finish the play. 57 minutes into the game, D.J. Wills was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bandon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Buchanan the free kick. 57 minutes into the game, one of Bandon:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Terrance Michael placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! After having played for 65 minutes, Johnny Yu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bandon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johnny Yu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Theron Chappelle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
