When Ted Mullen, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 16 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Vicente Kirkland was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. A collision led to Mormons FBC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Sid Quintana hit a great ball. Bryan Coleman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vicente Kirkland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ted Mullen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bryan Coleman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Bret Hedrick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 27 minutes, Bryan Coleman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bridgton FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bryan Coleman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bret Hedrick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Trimble, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After 37 played minutes Ted Mullen rounded Bridgton FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. In the 46th match minute, Bridgton FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Devin Sexton to maneuver through the defense. Oren Broussard's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vicente Kirkland read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pedro Trimble was the one to do the kick off. Randy Randolph struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Vicente Kirkland didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mormons FBC. If Bryan Coleman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vicente Kirkland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ted Mullen in the 76th minute of play. When Sid Quintana came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Mormons FBC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sid Quintana couldn't finish the play. Vicente Kirkland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ted Mullen in the 82nd minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, Bridgton FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ted Mullen came free, but Vicente Kirkland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute Sid Quintana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Kirkland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Bridgton FC booed when Mormons FBC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Travis Bristol didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bridgton FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
