Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 150) Paxton AFC's DeAndre Grimes started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Toby Swartz hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Santo Swain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jake Henson in the 7th minute of play. If DeAndre Grimes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paxton AFC's Santo Swain played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jake Henson in the 23rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Woods Cross FC's Toby Swartz got a free kick in the 24th minute. When Mel Souza came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Woods Cross FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mel Souza couldn't finish the play. In the 31st minute, DeAndre Grimes fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gregory Kitchen, passed just outside the right post. 36 minutes into the match, Marcos Reece had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gregory Kitchen. Woods Cross FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcos Reece was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Caleb Pearson hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After having played for 45 minutes, Marcos Reece managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paxton AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcos Reece was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, DeAndre Grimes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paxton AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but DeAndre Grimes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gregory Kitchen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gregory Kitchen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Reece, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mel Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santo Swain having to interfere. Gregory Kitchen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from DeAndre Grimes, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After having played for 66 minutes, DeAndre Grimes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paxton AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but DeAndre Grimes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Reece in the 68th minute of play forced Woods Cross FC's goalkeeper Gregory Kitchen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jake Henson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Santo Swain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Paxton AFC's Caleb Pearson got a free kick in the 71st minute. If DeAndre Grimes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adrian Helms charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adrian Helms the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Woods Cross FC booed when Paxton AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Helms didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mel Souza had several of the Paxton AFC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 79 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Santo Swain as he didn't even see the shot coming. Caleb Pearson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mel Souza got free with Santo Swain in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Woods Cross FC's zone, Marcos Reece stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gregory Kitchen came out of the goal and Marcos Reece tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Woods Cross FC's Gregory Kitchen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by DeAndre Grimes in the 95th minute of play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
