After a rather tough play, Anchorage Athletic's Del Corley got a free kick in the 35th minute. Seth Cadena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Johnny Mesen made a huge save. With an all-out effort, Dallas Stars's Johnny Mesen threw himself towards the right post 39 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Seth Cadena, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
