Spectators: 6772 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1772, VIP seats: 0) Weldon Henry made the kick off and thus started the match. 4 minutes into the match, Devoto Shores FC's goal looked a bit too open when Deshawn Peck came free, but Trevor Marin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 5 minutes into the game, Mervin Daniel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Trevor Marin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deshawn Peck in the 11th minute of play forced Devoto Shores FC's goalkeeper Trevor Marin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Orange County Cookies's Roman Lane got a free kick in the 13th minute. The audience was convinced that Willie Browne's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dwight Elder was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. In the 25th minute Deshawn Peck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trevor Marin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 26 minutes, Scott Frye mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Orange County Cookies and the Devoto Shores FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 26th minute, Scott Frye hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Mervin Daniel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Devoto Shores FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Raul Swenson hit a great ball. Deshawn Peck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trevor Marin having to interfere. When Scott Frye was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 39 minutes had been played. A collision led to Orange County Cookies getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Scott Frye hit a great ball. After 47 minutes of play, Devoto Shores FC's Weldon Henry made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dwight Elder was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mervin Daniel to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 54 minutes, Mervin Daniel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Orange County Cookies's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mervin Daniel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Weldon Henry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dwight Elder having to interfere. After 62 played minutes Devoto Shores FC got a freekick which was hit by Raul Swenson. Charles Saunders was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 63rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Mervin Daniel took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Trevor Marin. Trevor Marin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. In the 71st minute, Dennis Grimes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Trevor Marin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mervin Daniel in the 86th minute of play. Dwight Elder made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Willie Browne sent off a good shot on target. Deshawn Peck struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Trevor Marin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Orange County Cookies. Mervin Daniel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Trevor Marin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Trevor Marin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Lane in the 95th minute of play. In the 96th minute, Sydney Whitlock hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Devoto Shores FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
