Len Denton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. If Scott Frye had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Len Denton managed to avoid a goal in the 42ndth minute, when Orange County Cookies's Mervin Daniel fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Barcelona's goalkeeper Len Denton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Andreas Sheets fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dwight Elder having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Deshawn Peck was the one to do the kick off. In the 60thth minute of the game Mervin Daniel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Barcelona's Len Denton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Len Denton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deshawn Peck, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute.
