Gibson AFC's Cyrus Mueller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Freddy Miller in the 7th minute of play. Monroe Nance stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rocky Escobedo's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Gibson AFC's Cyrus Mueller proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Gibson AFC from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Gibson AFC's Cyrus Mueller got control of the ball when Merrill MacWilliams tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Freddy Miller in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cyrus Mueller saved Gibson AFC from getting behind. Cyrus Mueller dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 28 minutes into the match, Gibson AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Freddy Miller came free, but Cyrus Mueller reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gibson AFC's Rocky Escobedo managed to work through Islanders's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Rocky Escobedo dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. If Dario Doran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodrigo Pugh hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Islanders's Boyce Calloway pulled a muscle in his back after 48 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 49 minutes, Lance Emery mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gibson AFC and the Islanders players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Gibson AFC's Lance Emery got a free kick in the 50th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rocky Escobedo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Monroe Nance came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Gibson AFC's Eldon Barrera. But to his dismay, Eldon Barrera quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Merrill MacWilliams sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Merrill MacWilliams took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cyrus Mueller. Cyrus Mueller dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Dario Doran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Monroe Nance having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Merrill MacWilliams in the 72nd minute of play forced Gibson AFC's goalkeeper Cyrus Mueller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cyrus Mueller showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Merrill MacWilliams in the 74th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rocky Escobedo in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Monroe Nance saved Islanders from getting behind. A hard shot by Rodrigo Pugh from long distance, 81 minutes into the match, got Monroe Nance's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Rocky Escobedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gibson AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rocky Escobedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Monroe Nance breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dario Doran was extremely unlucky when he, in the 87th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 92 played minutes Rocky Escobedo rounded Islanders's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-3. Rocky Escobedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 99th minute of the match Rodrigo Pugh shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Monroe Nance showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Islanders getting a freekick after 100 minutes play. Dustin Cramer hit a great ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Gibson AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
