Rocky Escobedo in the 8thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Elliott Stapleton, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ollie Goode received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Cyrus Mueller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 12 minutes, Adam Rose mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gibson AFC and the Glen Ellyn players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 12th minute, Adam Rose hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bernie Saucedo in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cyrus Mueller saved Gibson AFC from getting behind. Ollie Goode sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Glen Ellyn getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Anders Ersman hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the game, Lance Emery was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gibson AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Glen Ellyn the free kick. Lance Emery hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Cyrus Mueller showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernie Saucedo in the 18th minute of the match. Lance Emery received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Elliott Stapleton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gibson AFC's Cyrus Mueller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ollie Goode in the 28th minute of play. A collision led to Gibson AFC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Sergio Starnes hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dario Doran in the 34th minute of play forced Glen Ellyn's goalkeeper Elliott Stapleton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Gibson AFC's Elliott Stapleton threw himself towards the right post 36 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rocky Escobedo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Cyrus Mueller showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ollie Goode in the 39th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vern DeJesus in the 40th minute of play forced Gibson AFC's goalkeeper Cyrus Mueller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Glen Ellyn's goalkeeper Elliott Stapleton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dario Doran. Lance Emery kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. In the 46thth minute of the game Ollie Goode who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gibson AFC's Cyrus Mueller was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After the first half Glen Ellyn were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Gibson AFC's Cyrus Mueller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vern DeJesus in the 60th minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Gibson AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ollie Goode came free, but Cyrus Mueller reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dario Doran's late challenge caught a Glen Ellyn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dario Doran helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Glen Ellyn booed when Gibson AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dario Doran didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Glen Ellyn's zone, Dario Doran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elliott Stapleton came out of the goal and Dario Doran tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 74 played minutes, Gibson AFC's Rodrigo Pugh shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Elliott Stapleton came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gibson AFC reached it. Blair Levy's late challenge caught a Gibson AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Blair Levy helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Glen Ellyn's Blair Levy got a free kick in the 74th minute. 84 minutes into the match, Gibson AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ollie Goode came free, but Cyrus Mueller reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cyrus Mueller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ollie Goode, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. After 86 minutes, Vern DeJesus made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Gibson AFC's Cyrus Mueller tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ollie Goode in the 92nd minute of play forced Gibson AFC's goalkeeper Cyrus Mueller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Ollie Goode kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cyrus Mueller. That made the score 0-3 in the 93 minute of play.
