The referee showed Florian Maher the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Taylor Granger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but George Kaiser made a huge save. Gavin Barney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gavin Barney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Aaron Faulkner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yong Crawford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Taylor Granger succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 28th playminute. In the 31st match minute, Lex FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salvador Padilla to maneuver through the defense. George Kaiser showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darnell Benoit in the 33rd minute of the match. 38 minutes into the match, North Carolina Gauchos's goal looked a bit too open when Jon Gonzalez came free, but Aaron Faulkner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Taylor Granger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Taylor Granger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. George Kaiser tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, North Carolina Gauchos's Adolfo Frye got a free kick in the 46th minute. Yong Crawford's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aaron Faulkner read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play.

The wind increased when Darnell Benoit made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gavin Barney in the 58th minute of play forced North Carolina Gauchos's goalkeeper Aaron Faulkner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Taylor Granger in the 60th minute of play forced Lex FC's goalkeeper George Kaiser to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yong Crawford recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lex FC's Yong Crawford got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aaron Faulkner made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yong Crawford in the 73rd minute. Aaron Faulkner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gavin Barney in the 74th minute of play. If Gavin Barney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lex FC's George Kaiser played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darnell Benoit in the 86th minute of play. In the 89th minute, Darnell Benoit left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The North Carolina Gauchos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 95th minute Darnell Benoit shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Kaiser saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. North Carolina Gauchos's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
