After 4 played minutes Christopher FC got a freekick which was hit by Moises Henson. 6 minutes into the game, North Carolina Gauchos's Taylor Granger nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Trevor Ng made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. A collision led to Christopher FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Moises Henson hit a great ball. In the 14th minute of the match Deon Bruner sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Trevor Ng skillfully saved the ball. In the 17th minute Darnell Benoit shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trevor Ng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Taylor Granger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Trevor Ng tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of North Carolina Gauchos booed when Christopher FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rolando Rios didn't get a good kick on the ball. 23 minutes into the game, Kirby Fitzgerald was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. North Carolina Gauchos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Christopher FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, North Carolina Gauchos's Kirby Fitzgerald got a free kick in the 23rd minute. After having played for 26 minutes, Taylor Granger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. North Carolina Gauchos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Taylor Granger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Trevor Ng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darnell Benoit in the 28th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Foster Lockett hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rolando Rios hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Christopher FC defense, Darnell Benoit kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Trevor Ng. The Christopher FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Trevor Ng should have stopped the shot. In the 34th match minute, North Carolina Gauchos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aurelio Ramirez to maneuver through the defense. If Taylor Granger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute of the match Christopher FC got a corner. North Carolina Gauchos's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. William Sylvester ran over to the corner to take the kick. William Sylvester made a great header on Christopher FC's corner, it was just that North Carolina Gauchos's Aaron Faulkner managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Taylor Granger in the 48th minute of play forced Christopher FC's goalkeeper Trevor Ng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Darnell Benoit was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Taylor Granger fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Trevor Ng, passed just outside the right post. Christopher FC's Trevor Ng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darnell Benoit in the 55th minute of play. Taylor Granger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the game, Christopher FC's Ahmed Izturis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aaron Faulkner made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Darnell Benoit could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Trevor Ng made a huge save. 70 minutes into the game, Angelo Lefler cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Aaron Faulkner was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Taylor Granger managed to get in a good position for a shot. North Carolina Gauchos's supporters rose to their feet, but Taylor Granger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Trevor Ng breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Christopher FC's goalkeeper Trevor Ng, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Taylor Granger got free with Trevor Ng in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. North Carolina Gauchos's Aaron Faulkner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmed Izturis in the 83rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, North Carolina Gauchos's Adolfo Frye got a free kick in the 84th minute. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Christopher FC were victorious despite being under pressure from North Carolina Gauchos for much of the match.
