If Brendon Crandall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brielle's Stephen Corona played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Heath in the 23rd minute of play. In the 28th minute, Brady Escobedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brielle's Brendon Crandall got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nolan Starr hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Wes Jarvis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stephen Corona having to interfere. After 37 played minutes Virginia settlers got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Heath. Merrill Rios hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. The Virginia settlers players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Brielle were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Brendon Crandall made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Virginia settlers getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Wes Jarvis hit a great ball. Quintin Nichols was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Don Moses. Stephen Corona showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from J.C. Wilkinson, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Stephen Corona stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of J.C. Wilkinson's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. After a rather tough play, Virginia settlers's Allan Weathers got a free kick in the 61st minute. Eliseo Heath kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the match, Eliseo Heath had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stephen Corona. Brielle's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eliseo Heath was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After 78 minutes, Brendon Crandall made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Virginia settlers's Quintin Nichols tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Orlando Cho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. J.C. Wilkinson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Stephen Corona tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stephen Corona took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from J.C. Wilkinson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 91st match minute, Brielle was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pete Starnes to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Virginia settlers getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Jordan Kent hit a great ball. Brielle's Brendon Crandall got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Virginia settlers supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Brielle's performance. The match ended with a win for Brielle.
