The audience was convinced that Sammy Baker's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jarrod Kirk was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Cason Matthews managed to get in a good position for a shot. A wasted opportunity for Appalachian Football Club. 38 minutes into the game, Sammy Baker cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Jarrod Kirk was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Florida AFC's Jarrod Kirk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sammy Baker in the 42nd minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Florida AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Sammy Baker came free, but Jarrod Kirk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sammy Baker in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jarrod Kirk prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 47 minutes into the match, Norberto Braun notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Florida AFC's Jarrod Kirk. Jarrod Kirk was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half Appalachian Football Club were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Sydney Arthur made the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes of play, Appalachian Football Club's Sammy Baker made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jarrod Kirk was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 56 minutes, Sammy Baker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Appalachian Football Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sammy Baker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Curt Higgins recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th match minute, Florida AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roscoe Chin to maneuver through the defense. Cason Matthews received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Jarrod Kirk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jarrod Kirk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norberto Braun, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. If Sammy Baker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geoff Richey scored 1-5 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lyle De La Cruz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 86th minute, Sammy Baker got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jarrod Kirk stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sammy Baker's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Roscoe Chin charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roscoe Chin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Florida AFC's Jarrod Kirk proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Florida AFC from getting a goal against them. Sammy Bakers short, quick shot in the 94thth minute got Jarrod Kirk to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
