Kirk Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Erik Gorman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dane Moser kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Kirk Miranda might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Erik Gorman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kirk Miranda ran back to his position shaking his head. Kirk Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Simon Rainey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stephen Hough, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th minute, Benedict Owens left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sporting Olathe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Erik Gorman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kermit Regan, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. A collision led to Sporting Olathe getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Rueben Epperson hit a great ball. After 47 played minutes Sporting Olathe got a freekick which was hit by Stanford Owen. After having played for 48 minutes, Kermit Regan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flagstaff's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kermit Regan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kermit Regan to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Kirk Miranda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flagstaff's supporters rose to their feet, but Kirk Miranda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erik Gorman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Erik Gorman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kermit Regan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kirk Miranda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erik Gorman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Flagstaff's Dane Moser got a free kick in the 71st minute. Simon Rainey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benedict Owens in the 74th minute of the match. In the 74th match minute, Flagstaff was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by A.J. Sanderson to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kirk Miranda got free with Erik Gorman in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kirk Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 85 minutes into the match, Flagstaff's Kermit Regan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erik Gorman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Kirk Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th match minute, Flagstaff was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dane Moser to maneuver through the defense. Simon Rainey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stephen Hough, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Kirk Miranda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erik Gorman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Flagstaff's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
