The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Philadelphia AFC booed when Flagstaff was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kermit Regan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Reyes Zuniga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kirk Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reyes Zuniga having to interfere. After 21 minutes of play, Flagstaff's Kermit Regan made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reyes Zuniga was left in no man's land by his defense there! Reynaldo Henderson hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Kirk Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reyes Zuniga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kermit Regan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Shayne Espinoza kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Simon Rainey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reynaldo Henderson in the 42nd minute of the match. Kirk Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Reyes Zuniga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

If Kermit Regan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kirk Miranda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Reyes Zuniga made a huge save. 64 minutes into the match, Flagstaff's goal looked a bit too open when Jonah Copeland came free, but Simon Rainey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 65 minutes into the game, Philadelphia AFC's Jonah Copeland nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Simon Rainey made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mario McNair during the 73rd minute. Kermit Regan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 89 played minutes Philadelphia AFC got a freekick which was hit by Donovan Herman. A collision led to Flagstaff getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Dane Moser hit a great ball. After 94 played minutes, Philadelphia AFC's Wilmer Shapiro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Simon Rainey came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Philadelphia AFC reached it. Flagstaff's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
