Warren Means who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Travis Looney when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Reyes Zuniga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kelly Nesbitt, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 38 minutes into the match, MONTERREY's goal looked a bit too open when Jonah Copeland came free, but Travis Looney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mario McNair's late challenge caught a MONTERREY's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mario McNair helped the player get up and apologised. After a defensive mix-up in Philadelphia AFC's zone, Kelly Nesbitt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reyes Zuniga came out of the goal and Kelly Nesbitt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kelly Nesbitt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reyes Zuniga having to interfere. Shayne Espinoza kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. MONTERREY were awarded a corner in the 50th minute after Philadelphia AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Julian Hayden took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Julian Hayden got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Reyes Zuniga quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Wes Cerna might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Reyes Zuniga. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wes Cerna ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice moves Wes Cerna could shoot a difficult shot in the 63rd minute, which Reyes Zuniga however easily saved by the left post. 66 minutes into the match, MONTERREY's goal looked a bit too open when Warren Means came free, but Travis Looney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute, Warren Means got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Philadelphia AFC's Jonah Copeland got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Reyes Zuniga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wes Cerna in the 74th minute. The supporters of Philadelphia AFC booed when MONTERREY was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Busch didn't get a good kick on the ball. MONTERREY's Travis Looney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonah Copeland in the 78th minute of play. Reyes Zuniga made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Wes Cerna sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonah Copeland in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Travis Looney saved MONTERREY from getting behind. Warren Means fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Travis Looney having to interfere. Jonah Copeland succeeded in the game's 87th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. Warren Means's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Travis Looney read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play.
