With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bo Esquivel in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lawrence Esparza saved Bunker Hill Village FC from getting behind. When Chad Schroeder fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bunker Hill Village FC's protests and gave Chad Schroeder a yellow card for diving instead. In the 6th minute, Chad Schroeder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gardiner AFC were awarded a corner in the 8th minute after Bunker Hill Village FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gustavo Marin took the corner. Bunker Hill Village FC's Lawrence Esparza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brandon Seymour in the 10th minute of play. In the 13th match minute, Gardiner AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldo Ayala to maneuver through the defense. In the 14th match minute, Bunker Hill Village FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teddy Yates to maneuver through the defense. Brandon Seymour received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Lawrence Esparza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gary Rush fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Napoleon Dye having to interfere. Jacob Abraham hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. 25 minutes into the match, Bunker Hill Village FC's goal looked a bit too open when Brandon Seymour came free, but Lawrence Esparza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lawrence Esparza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bo Esquivel in the 32nd minute of the match. 0-1 became the score in the 33rd minute when Brandon Seymour elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 37 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bunker Hill Village FC! Lawrence Esparza had in the 39thth minute some difficulties stopping Gustavo Marin's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Gardiner AFC's Brandon Seymour got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 45th play minute Gary Rush came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Napoleon Dye. 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Chad Schroeder struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Napoleon Dye didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bunker Hill Village FC. In the 56th match minute, Gardiner AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldo Ayala to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 60 minutes, Teddy Yates managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bunker Hill Village FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teddy Yates was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Teddy Yates sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Napoleon Dye showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teddy Yates, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jacob Abraham during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Teddy Yates managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bunker Hill Village FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Teddy Yates was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Napoleon Dye breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jacob Abraham was shown his second yellow card after 71 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Gardiner AFC booed when Bunker Hill Village FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chad Schroeder didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bo Esquivel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Lawrence Esparza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gary Rush had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the match, Bunker Hill Village FC's Gary Rush sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Napoleon Dye narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Bunker Hill Village FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Gardiner AFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Gardiner AFC.
