The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Brandon Seymour sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 8th minute Olin Clement shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Napoleon Dye saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olin Clement fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Napoleon Dye having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Edmundo Moreno recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Napoleon Dye. Edmundo Moreno showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Bo Esquivel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Edmundo Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Napoleon Dye took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olin Clement, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Edmundo Moreno came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Saunders Blue Devils fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Moreno couldn't finish the play. 44 minutes into the game, Darren Metcalf was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gardiner AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Saunders Blue Devils the free kick. In the 45th minute, Darren Metcalf hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Brandon Seymour made a kick off. When Saunders Blue Devils's Olin Clement in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gardiner AFC's goalie prevented a goal. 55 minutes into the game, Gardiner AFC's Brandon Seymour nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rubin Emery made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. If Olin Clement had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute Olin Clement shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Napoleon Dye saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alec Gil hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Rubin Emery acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 71st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Gustavo Marin. Edmundo Moreno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 76thth minute of the game Olin Clement who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gardiner AFC's Napoleon Dye was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edmundo Moreno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Napoleon Dye tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Napoleon Dye didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Olin Clement went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brandon Seymour in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rubin Emery saved Saunders Blue Devils from getting behind. After having played for 87 minutes, Bo Esquivel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gardiner AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bo Esquivel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 3-1 became the score in the 90th minute when Edmundo Moreno elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When Saunders Blue Devils's Edmundo Moreno in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gardiner AFC's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Gardiner AFC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Bryan Gallagher hit a great ball. Napoleon Dye made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Moreno in the 98th minute of play. Saunders Blue Devils's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
