With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lincoln Root in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Robby Ledbetter saved Guin from getting behind. Abraham Nunn charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abraham Nunn the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 3rd minute, Abraham Nunn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Somerset's defense didn't have a chance, in the 6th minute, when Scotty Dodson scored to the left of an out of position Alfred Russo, making the score, 1-0. Lincoln Root recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Abraham Nunn took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alfred Russo. Alfred Russo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Casper Epps sped through Guin's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Robby Ledbetter. Robby Ledbetter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Casper Epps, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 35th minute Lincoln Root shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robby Ledbetter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lincoln Root was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Somerset's Adrian Stafford got a free kick in the 54th minute. Alfred Russo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Scotty Dodson, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Abraham Nunn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Alfred Russo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 65 minutes into the match, Somerset's goal looked a bit too open when Abraham Nunn came free, but Alfred Russo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lincoln Root's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Robby Ledbetter firmly grabbed it by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Casper Epps managed to get in a good position for a shot. Somerset's supporters rose to their feet, but Casper Epps was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robby Ledbetter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lincoln Root who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 74thth minute tested the skills of Robby Ledbetter when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Alfred Russo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dillon Oliver, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Alfred Russo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dillon Oliver's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. In the 78th minute, Perry Dodge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ervin Woodall got free with Robby Ledbetter in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lincoln Root could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Robby Ledbetter made a huge save. Casper Epps received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Robby Ledbetter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 88 minutes into the match, Somerset's goal looked a bit too open when Scotty Dodson came free, but Alfred Russo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ervin Woodall could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Robby Ledbetter made a huge save. If Lincoln Root had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Somerset's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
