The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With an all-out effort, LA CLIPPERS's Bryant Burrell threw himself towards the right post 4 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Daren Greer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Daren Greer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bryant Burrell having to interfere. When LA CLIPPERS's Josef Lay in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kailua FC's goalie prevented a goal. Geoff Walton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norbert Rosado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Josef Lay got free with Bryant Burrell in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 22 minutes of play, Kailua FC's Shawn Waite made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Geoff Walton was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Kailua FC booed when LA CLIPPERS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daren Seay didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Josef Lay managed to get in a good position for a shot. LA CLIPPERS's supporters rose to their feet, but Josef Lay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bryant Burrell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 33 played minutes Kailua FC got a freekick which was hit by Corey Chin. In the 34th minute of the match Wilbur Farr sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bryant Burrell skillfully saved the ball. If Josef Lay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Josef Lay got free with Bryant Burrell in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kailua FC's Bryant Burrell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daren Greer in the 41st minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Shawn Waite was the one to do the kick off. If Josef Lay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daren Greer in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bryant Burrell saved Kailua FC from getting behind. Arnoldo Hargrove hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Daren Greer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bryant Burrell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Norbert Rosado kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. LA CLIPPERS's Josef Lay got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 71st minute Josef Lay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bryant Burrell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Shawn Waite kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Josef Lay took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bryant Burrell. Bryant Burrell dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 85th minute, Daren Greer made a precise shot to the right of Bryant Burrell. Kailua FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1.
