Connecticut FC's Shayne Herrera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Foster Darling in the 4th minute of play. 6 minutes into the game, Connecticut FC's Bronson Goff nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Noel Crews made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 13th minute Winfred Burgos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shayne Herrera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute, Darius Maldonado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Noel Crews showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Frederick, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Noel Crews was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 42 minutes into the game, Martin Frederick cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Noel Crews was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Shayne Herrera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexis Strickland in the 46th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Martin Frederick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noel Crews having to interfere. In the 57th minute Winfred Burgos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shayne Herrera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Connecticut FC's goal looked a bit too open when Winfred Burgos came free, but Shayne Herrera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 60 minutes had been played when some careless play by Connecticut FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rick Herget was slow to take the kick. During this time San Manuel's players had a chance to rest. 65 minutes into the game, Daryl Grover was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. San Manuel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Connecticut FC the free kick. In the 65th minute, Daryl Grover hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Shayne Herrera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Winfred Burgos in the 68th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Frederick in the 71st minute of play forced San Manuel's goalkeeper Noel Crews to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Martin Frederick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Noel Crews tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexis Strickland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shayne Herrera having to interfere. There was no doubt that Connecticut FC were the better team. Connecticut FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
