After 9 played minutes WolfPack got a freekick which was hit by Hunter Greenwood. Sergio Aguirre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brice Carrington, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the game, one of WolfPack:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ned Belanger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25th minute, Kenneth Hawk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, WolfPack's Grady Hensley got a free kick in the 27th minute. The supporters of WolfPack booed when Canastota FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aldo Calderwood didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 35 minutes, Hunter Greenwood mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the WolfPack and the Canastota FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 35 played minutes WolfPack got a freekick which was hit by Hunter Greenwood. Sergio Aguirre stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elias West's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Shane Nunn hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Canastota FC's Brian Whaley got control of the ball when Ned Belanger tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Brice Carrington came up free with the goalie in the 49th minute, the Canastota FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brice Carrington couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Brice Carrington was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to WolfPack getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Domenico Gilmore hit a great ball. WolfPack's Sergio Aguirre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brice Carrington in the 57th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Canastota FC's Sergio Aguirre threw himself towards the right post 61 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rolando Haines, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Sergio Aguirre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brice Carrington in the 66th minute of play. After a rather tough play, WolfPack's Reed Cornett got a free kick in the 68th minute. Elias West fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergio Aguirre having to interfere. Reed Cornett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Brian Whaley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brian Whaley stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Reed Cornett's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Canastota FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
