Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Garrett Conway in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sergio Aguirre prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ned Belanger took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dean Aldrich. Dean Aldrich dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Ned Belanger managed to get in a good position for a shot. WolfPack's supporters rose to their feet, but Ned Belanger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dean Aldrich breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dean Aldrich was a little too slow when Reed Cornett got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 3-0. Reed Cornett might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dean Aldrich. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reed Cornett ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in WolfPack's zone, Gregg Cabourne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sergio Aguirre came out of the goal and Gregg Cabourne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dane Roland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Sergio Aguirre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 89th minute by Nathaniel Babcock got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. A collision led to WolfPack getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Hunter Greenwood hit a great ball. When Jed Brandt fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rio Grande do Sul Macaws's protests and gave Jed Brandt a yellow card for diving instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. WolfPack had won after a very even match.
