In the 5th match minute, Victory Lakes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Milo Gabriel to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Evans in the 8th minute of play forced El Paso FC's goalkeeper Hunter Bell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Victory Lakes FC's zone, Doug Hewitt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Derrick Darling came out of the goal and Doug Hewitt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Renato Jameson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derrick Darling having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as El Paso FC's Doug Hewitt slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Derrick Darling. That made the score 1-0 after 19 minutes of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Doug Hewitt in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Derrick Darling saved Victory Lakes FC from getting behind. 26 minutes into the match, Nathaniel Romo notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of El Paso FC's Hunter Bell. Hunter Bell was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when El Paso FC's Doug Hewitt in the 29th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Derrick Darling was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Victory Lakes FC through an amazing save. A collision led to Victory Lakes FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Milo Gabriel hit a great ball. Doug Hewitt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derrick Darling having to interfere. Doug Hewitt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 42 minutes into the match, Victory Lakes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Doug Hewitt came free, but Derrick Darling reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of El Paso FC booed when Victory Lakes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Alonzo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Derrick Darling took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doug Hewitt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Doug Hewitt made a kick off. When Victory Lakes FC's Jamar Robinson in 55 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Hunter Bell guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Doug Hewitt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derrick Darling having to interfere. After a rather tough play, El Paso FC's Curt Dickerson got a free kick in the 70th minute. 71 minutes into the match, El Paso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jamar Robinson came free, but Hunter Bell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of El Paso FC booed when Victory Lakes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Alonzo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 74 minutes, Jamar Robinson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Victory Lakes FC and the El Paso FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Victory Lakes FC's Jamar Robinson got a free kick in the 74th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Doug Hewitt in the 75th managed to get into a good position. In the 77th minute Doug Hewitt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Derrick Darling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Victory Lakes FC's Derrick Darling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dustin Simms in the 84th minute of play. Tomas Alonzo charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tomas Alonzo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 85th minute, Tomas Alonzo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Doug Hewitt in the 89th managed to get into a good position. The audience was convinced that Doug Hewitt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Derrick Darling was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. After 96th play minutes Doug Hewitt shot 3-2, a short shot which went by Derrick Darling and just under the crossbar into goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. El Paso FC fully deserved thier win.
