The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Chandler AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 3rd minute, when Elias West scored to the left of an out of position Bo Engel, making the score, 1-0. Brice Carrington was extremely unlucky when he, in the 7th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 7th minute of the match, Brice Carrington tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bo Engel saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Brice Carrington sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ray Becker blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Brian Whaley having to make a save. Chandler AFC's Octavio Egan got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 23 minutes into the game, Tracy Ricks was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chandler AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Canastota FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Chandler AFC's Tracy Ricks got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 25th minute, Thaddeus Rodriguez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rolando Haines, 26 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Ray Becker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 30 minutes into the game, Aldo Calderwood was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Canastota FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chandler AFC the free kick. Ray Becker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Brian Whaley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Octavio Egan struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Brian Whaley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chandler AFC. A collision led to Chandler AFC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Dean Campbell hit a great ball. Chandler AFC's Ray Becker got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Elias West had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Octavio Egan to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Chandler AFC's zone, Elias West stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bo Engel came out of the goal and Elias West tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brian Whaley didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ray Becker went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to Canastota FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Rolando Haines hit a great ball. If Octavio Egan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 77 minutes, Octavio Egan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chandler AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Octavio Egan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nick Vann struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Bo Engel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canastota FC. After 82 played minutes Chandler AFC got a freekick which was hit by Richie Contreras. When Brice Carrington came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Canastota FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brice Carrington couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Canastota FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Nick Vann hit a great ball. Chandler AFC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tracy Ricks in the 90th minute. The corner ended in Tracy Ricks almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Canastota FC's Brian Whaley did a great save. Elias West blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bo Engel having to make a save. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
