Dustin Simms charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dustin Simms the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, El Paso FC's Dustin Simms got a free kick in the 3rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Quincy Burks got free with Hunter Bell in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 11 minutes into the match, Quincy Burks had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hunter Bell. El Paso FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Quincy Burks was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Hunter Bell came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by New Whiteland FC's Quincy Burks. But to his dismay, Quincy Burks quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 17th minute Doug Hewitt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Cuevas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peter Cuevas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dustin Simms in the 18th minute of play. Peter Cuevas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Doug Hewitt went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. 26 minutes into the match, El Paso FC's goalkeeper Hunter Bell had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Quincy Burks. Peter Cuevas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doug Hewitt in the 37th minute of play. Quincy Burks's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Hunter Bell firmly grabbed it by the left post. Brian Dent hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. A collision led to New Whiteland FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Ali Carrier hit a great ball. After 48 played minutes, El Paso FC's Steven Knowles shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Peter Cuevas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in El Paso FC reached it. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After some careless play in the New Whiteland FC defense, Doug Hewitt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Peter Cuevas. The New Whiteland FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Peter Cuevas should have stopped the shot. New Whiteland FC's Peter Cuevas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doug Hewitt in the 60th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Brian Dent hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 65 minutes into the match, Myles Beltran dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Peter Cuevas, 2-4. Peter Cuevas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doug Hewitt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71st match minute, New Whiteland FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mitchell Zamora to maneuver through the defense. In the 72nd minute, Steven Knowles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 74th minute Myles Beltran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Cuevas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Quentin Marshall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 90th minute Lee Whitney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hunter Bell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over El Paso FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than New Whiteland FC throughout the match.
