With a little luck, STL City FC's Jay Burkett got control of the ball when Jacob Hickey tried to sneak it across the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 14 minutes, Jay Burkett successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norman Tran in the 15th minute of play forced STL City FC's goalkeeper Jay Burkett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jay Burkett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norman Tran in the 18th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, The Alliance Fc's goal looked a bit too open when Silas Alvaro came free, but Lazaro Renteria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 28 played minutes The Alliance Fc got a freekick which was hit by Phillip Egan. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Glen Duarte in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lazaro Renteria saved The Alliance Fc from getting behind. Lazaro Renteria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silas Alvaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. The STL City FC fans' excitement grew in the 38th match minute when STL City FC's Glen Duarte looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Lazaro Renteria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silas Alvaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The wind increased when Jim Luna made the kick off in the second half. Werner Chaney kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 53rd minute of the match Melvin Sutherland sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jay Burkett skillfully saved the ball. 58 minutes into the match, Jacob Hickey notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of STL City FC's Jay Burkett. Jay Burkett was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 64 minutes, Silas Alvaro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Silas Alvaro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lazaro Renteria read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Jay Burkett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jim Giles in the 68th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, STL City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jacob Hickey came free, but Jay Burkett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jay Burkett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jim Giles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ty Taylor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute, Jim Luna ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jay Burkett was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. In the 82nd minute Jim Luna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jay Burkett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 84 minutes, Ty Taylor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. If Glen Duarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. STL City FC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing The Alliance Fc to leave the ground with a draw.
