An unexpectedly hard shot by Jim Luna in the 40th minute of play forced Pontotoc's goalkeeper Bret Rivera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44thth minute of the game Jim Luna who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pontotoc's Bret Rivera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Pontotoc booed when The Alliance Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacob Hickey didn't get a good kick on the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. James Sykes was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, The Alliance Fc's Vaughn Curtis got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Lazaro Renteria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rueben Snyder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 63 minutes into the match, Rueben Snyder had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lazaro Renteria. The Alliance Fc's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rueben Snyder was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. James Sykes took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lazaro Renteria. The referee ignored Pontotoc's protests and gave DeMarcus Voss a yellow card for diving instead. James Sykes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lazaro Renteria having to make a save. After 81 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for The Alliance Fc! If Rueben Snyder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lazaro Renteria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rueben Snyder, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. The Alliance Fc's Lazaro Renteria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rueben Snyder in the 94th minute of play. If Jim Luna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jim Luna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the The Alliance Fc players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Pontotoc.
