Jay Burkett was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Glen Duarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 13 minutes of play, Lions FC's Denver Thome made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jay Burkett was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Sung Conrad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 19th minute, Edmundo Rivas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Lions FC booed when STL City FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Glen Duarte didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as STL City FC's Silas Alvaro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Korey Conley. That made the score 1-2 after 25 minutes of play. Ty Taylor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Glen Duarte could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Korey Conley made a huge save. When Glen Duarte fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored STL City FC's protests and gave Glen Duarte a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Lions FC booed when STL City FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Glen Duarte didn't get a good kick on the ball. 38 minutes into the game, Emery Kearns cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Jay Burkett was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sung Conrad in the 42nd minute of play forced STL City FC's goalkeeper Jay Burkett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jay Burkett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emery Kearns, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 47 minutes into the game, Lions FC's Sung Conrad nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jay Burkett made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Glen Duarte to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Lions FC's Sung Conrad slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jay Burkett. That made the score 1-5 after 54 minutes of play. In the 64th minute, Silas Alvaro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The STL City FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-6. 68 minutes into the match, Denver Thome dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jay Burkett, 2-7. The audience was convinced that Sung Conrad's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jay Burkett was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. 73 minutes into the game, Sung Conrad cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-8. Jay Burkett was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 76th minute, Glen Duarte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jay Burkett made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Sung Conrad sent off a good shot on target. Sung Conrad took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jay Burkett. Jay Burkett dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-9. Sung Conrad's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 87thth minute, Jay Burkett skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. STL City FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Denver Thome 88 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-10. 93 minutes into the game, one of STL City FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 95th minute there was a penalty for Lions FC. Sung Conrad stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jay Burkett. 2-11. STL City FC's Jay Burkett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sung Conrad in the 100th minute of play. When the match was over Lions FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than STL City FC throughout the match.
