When Athetic's Dante Link in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dark Tide's goalie prevented a goal. 7 minutes into the game, Athetic's Dante Link nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jackson Woodward made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose McNair in the 11th minute of play forced Athetic's goalkeeper Allen Raines to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mark Willoughby struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Jackson Woodward didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Athetic. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mark Willoughby in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jackson Woodward prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rico Lacey charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rico Lacey the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Dark Tide getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Rico Lacey hit a great ball. In the 19th minute Dante Link shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jackson Woodward saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 21 minutes of play, Athetic's Dante Link made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jackson Woodward was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Athetic fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when Athetic's Mark Willoughby looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jackson Woodward showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mark Willoughby, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dante Link in the 40th minute of play forced Dark Tide's goalkeeper Jackson Woodward to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Dark Tide's goalkeeper Jackson Woodward, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 44 minutes into the game, Athetic's Mark Willoughby nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jackson Woodward made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Mark Willoughby recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 56th minute, Rico Lacey left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dark Tide fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-6. Allen Raines showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jose McNair in the 60th minute of the match. In the 60th match minute, Athetic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kasey Rocha to maneuver through the defense. Elijah Burgess kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 66th minute, Dark Tide's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ramon Wright fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Mark Willoughby received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jackson Woodward came out and tried to block the shot, but Mark Willoughby slotted it home off the left post making it 1-7 in the 66th minute. Mark Willoughby had several of the Dark Tide's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 72 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-8 score and a disappointed Jackson Woodward as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 76th minute Mark Willoughby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jackson Woodward saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jackson Woodward acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 77th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Pablo Atwood. Mark Willoughby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Dark Tide booed when Athetic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mark Willoughby didn't get a good kick on the ball.
