The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benedict Belanger helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Huron FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Benedict Belanger hit a great ball. The long shot by Pablo Atwood in the 13th minute really tested David Marshall's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 26 minutes into the match, Athetic's goal looked a bit too open when Walton Roberts came free, but Allen Raines reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 30 minutes into the game, Walton Roberts cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Allen Raines was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mark Willoughby could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but David Marshall made a huge save. In the 35th match minute, Athetic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eddie Humphries to maneuver through the defense. Huron FC's David Marshall proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Huron FC from getting a goal against them. In the 41st minute, Athetic's Mark Willoughby ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind David Marshall. David Marshall yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Mark Willoughby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Walton Roberts stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Athetic's Rodrick Sullivan got a free kick in the 51st minute. Miguel Lim, 52 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 61 played minutes Athetic got a freekick which was hit by Sung Bender. Mark Willoughby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. David Marshall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mark Willoughby in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg David Marshall saved Huron FC from getting behind. Athetic's Allen Raines proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Athetic from getting a goal against them. David Marshall made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dante Link in the 82nd minute of play. 86 minutes into the game, one of Athetic:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 88 minutes, Huron FC's Miguel Lim got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Allen Raines. When the final whistle went the supporters of Huron FC were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Athetic side.
