Akademia De Futbol's Stacey Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Riley Thurston in the 16th minute of play. Merrill Jean was extremely unlucky when he, in the 17th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 19 minutes into the match, Riley Thurston notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Akademia De Futbol's Stacey Day. Stacey Day was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Orlando Blanchard hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the game, Akademia De Futbol's Milton Barnhart nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rex Ambriz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Akademia De Futbol's Stacey Day proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Akademia De Futbol from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Akademia De Futbol's Stacey Day got control of the ball when Merrill Jean tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Milton Barnhart to make the kick off. Rex Ambriz came out and tried to block the shot, but Milton Barnhart slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 86th minute. 91 minutes into the match, Tara Hills's Riley Thurston sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stacey Day narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Riley Thurston received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Stacey Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Akademia De Futbol supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Akademia De Futbol would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
