Spectators: 7757 (Terracing: 5820, Seating: 1783, VIP seats: 154) Mark Willoughby started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Lloyd Rossi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Allen Raines tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 8 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Dante Link sped through Steger AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gerardo Shields. Mark Willoughbys short, quick shot in the 14thth minute got Gerardo Shields to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Mark Willoughby did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Gerardo Shields 20 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute, Mark Willoughby got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 28 played minutes, Athetic's Pablo Atwood shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gerardo Shields came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Athetic reached it. With a little luck, Steger AFC's Gerardo Shields got control of the ball when Mark Willoughby tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mark Willoughby in the 35thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gerardo Shields, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 44 minutes into the match, Athetic's goal looked a bit too open when Blaine Manuel came free, but Allen Raines reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Blaine Manuel to strike the kick off in the second half. Blaine Manuel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 55th minute of the match Francisco Murdock sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Allen Raines skillfully saved the ball. In the 57th minute, Mark Willoughby made a precise shot to the right of Gerardo Shields. Steger AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Francisco Murdock lost his temper 66 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. If Dante Link had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dante Link sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Steger AFC's Gerardo Shields played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mark Willoughby in the 96th minute of play. Gerardo Shields stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mark Willoughby's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. There was no doubt that Athetic were the better team. Athetic's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
