After 8 minutes, Jaime Funk mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Akademia De Futbol and the Huron FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Huron FC booed when Akademia De Futbol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Funk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Raul Russell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Daren Price's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but David Marshall was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Raul Russell received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Raul Russell succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-2 in the 34th playminute. A collision led to Huron FC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Terry Ragsdale hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Huron FC's zone, Daren Price stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Marshall came out of the goal and Daren Price tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jaime Funk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 52nd minute, Huron FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Milton Barnhart fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a rather tough play, Huron FC's Miguel Lim got a free kick in the 55th minute. David Marshall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Milton Barnhart, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 61st minute, Daren Price got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Akademia De Futbol's Jaime Funk got his second yellow card of the match in the 64th minute. The referee ordered Jaime Funk off the ground. Akademia De Futbol's Stacey Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raul Russell in the 89th minute of play. In the 99th minute, Jerry Archer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 100th minute of the match Filiberto Scruggs shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but David Marshall showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
