The audience was convinced that Lloyd Rossi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Denny Salas was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Lloyd Rossi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Denny Salas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gerardo Shields came out of the goal and Gerardo Solomon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Blaine Manuel to strike the kick off in the second half. If Gerardo Solomon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 55th minute Dustin McIntyre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerardo Shields saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerardo Solomon in the 64th minute of play forced Steger AFC's goalkeeper Gerardo Shields to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Terrence Key's late challenge caught a Hawaii Suns's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Terrence Key helped the player get up and apologised. Gerardo Shields showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerardo Solomon in the 91st minute of the match. Hawaii Suns's attack was well implemented in the 94th minute, but when Dustin McIntyre was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. If Gerardo Solomon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Hawaii Suns supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Steger AFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Steger AFC.
