After a rather tough play, Mishawaka's Fred Regan got a free kick in the 8th minute. Cole Warner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Waylon Sanderson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Waylon Sanderson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aurelio Rivers's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. In the 19th minute Cole Warner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waylon Sanderson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Waylon Sanderson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurelio Rivers, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 23rd minute of the match, Arturo Goode tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Roberto Dunn saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Carlo Graham fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mishawaka's protests and gave Carlo Graham a yellow card for diving instead. In the 32nd match minute, Mishawaka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlo Graham to maneuver through the defense. In the 35th minute, Cole Warner made a precise shot to the right of Waylon Sanderson. Kansas Jayhawks FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Cole Warner struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Waylon Sanderson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mishawaka. In the 47th minute, Mishawaka's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Arturo Goode fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aurelio Rivers to strike the kick off in the second half. Mishawaka's Roberto Dunn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arturo Goode in the 54th minute of play. Roberto Dunn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Goode, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Mishawaka's Olin Mendoza got a free kick in the 59th minute. Aurelio Rivers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waylon Sanderson having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Arturo Goode managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kansas Jayhawks FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Arturo Goode was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roberto Dunn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 78 minutes into the match, Aurelio Rivers dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Waylon Sanderson, 0-3. When Cole Warner came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Mishawaka fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cole Warner couldn't finish the play. If Aurelio Rivers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice moves Cole Warner could shoot a difficult shot in the 92nd minute, which Waylon Sanderson however easily saved by the left post. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mishawaka eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
