Mark Gauthier might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kip Wyatt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mark Gauthier ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to West Valley City FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Antoine Aguilar hit a great ball. Josh Elkins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cesar Morrison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cesar Morrison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josh Elkins having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SLC FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
