Darrel Bouchard charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Darrel Bouchard the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Darrel Bouchard hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. The supporters of Dylan Utd booed when Highland Beach was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick Draper didn't get a good kick on the ball. If J.C. McNamara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Duke Whitney came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Highland Beach fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duke Whitney couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Dylan Utd's zone, Duke Whitney stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodrigo Cano came out of the goal and Duke Whitney tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duke Whitney in the 21st minute of play forced Dylan Utd's goalkeeper Rodrigo Cano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Darrel Bouchard managed to get in a good position for a shot. Highland Beach's supporters rose to their feet, but Darrel Bouchard was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodrigo Cano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If J.C. McNamara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Timmy Urbina got free with Terry Dow in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. J.C. McNamara struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Terry Dow didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dylan Utd. In the 39thth minute of the game Darrel Bouchard who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dylan Utd's Rodrigo Cano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 59th match minute, Highland Beach was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrick Draper to maneuver through the defense. After 62 played minutes Dylan Utd got a freekick which was hit by Shawn Yeats. In the 63rdth minute of the game Duke Whitney who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dylan Utd's Rodrigo Cano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Terry Dow took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from J.C. McNamara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Highland Beach getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Darrel Bouchard hit a great ball. Patrick Draper's late challenge caught a Dylan Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
