Trent Herman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mathias Alvarenga in the 14th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Wellston AFC defense, Christian Chung kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Trent Herman. The Wellston AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Trent Herman should have stopped the shot. After 21 played minutes Wellston AFC got a freekick which was hit by Stefan Cuevas. In the 25th minute, Mathias Alvarenga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 26th minute Bernardino Oliverios shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trent Herman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexander Lyons made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 32ndth minute coming free in front of the goal, but DeMarcus Polk would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. DeMarcus Polk acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 35th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Whitney Kendrick. When Eldon Pike fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RISK UNITED's protests and gave Eldon Pike a yellow card for diving instead. In the 44th minute, Eldon Pike hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 45 minutes, Tad Hunt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wellston AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tad Hunt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, RISK UNITED's Eldon Pike got a free kick in the 46th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
