DFW Tejanos's Otis Farrell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rudolf Culver in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Noel Childers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in DFW Tejanos's zone, A.J. Schulz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Otis Farrell came out of the goal and A.J. Schulz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A.J. Schulz might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Otis Farrell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. A.J. Schulz ran back to his position shaking his head. Rudolf Culver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otis Farrell having to interfere. After 37 played minutes DFW Tejanos got a freekick which was hit by Charlton Bridges. After 40 played minutes DFW Tejanos got a freekick which was hit by Rob Ashby. 47 minutes into the game, one of DFW Tejanos:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 49th minute there was a penalty for bulldogs fc. Thurman Todd stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Otis Farrell. 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rudolf Culver was the one to do the kick off. Otis Farrell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rudolf Culver, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 64 minutes into the match, DFW Tejanos's goal looked a bit too open when A.J. Schulz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Otis Farrell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Otis Farrell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marlon Soto in the 98th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rudolf Culver in the 99th minute of play forced DFW Tejanos's goalkeeper Otis Farrell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
