An unexpectedly hard shot by Emery Lentz in the 14th minute of play forced Swiftyville's goalkeeper Joshua Baca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the game, Alex Starkey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Swiftyville's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atlanta United FC the free kick. In the 23rd minute, Yong Anderson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atlanta United FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emery Lentz in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joshua Baca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 32 minutes into the match, Atlanta United FC's goalkeeper Del Pennington had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Norbert Yeats. Garret Short recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 42 minutes, Garret Short managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlanta United FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Garret Short was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Emery Lentz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joshua Baca was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Swiftyville's zone, Garret Short stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joshua Baca came out of the goal and Garret Short tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 54th minute, Swiftyville's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Garret Short fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Garret Short succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 56th playminute. Rolf Montoya received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Del Pennington tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rolf Montoya in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Del Pennington saved Atlanta United FC from getting behind. Wilber Dietz hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Rolf Montoya struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Del Pennington didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Swiftyville. Jason Hollandsworth kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rolf Montoya in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Del Pennington came out of the goal and Norbert Yeats tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emery Lentz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Joshua Baca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Atlanta United FC played a much better game than Swiftyville and deserved their victory. The Swiftyville players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
