Ronnie Kerns came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Atlanta United FC's Emery Lentz. But to his dismay, Emery Lentz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ronnie Kerns showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emery Lentz in the 23rd minute of the match. Garret Short blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ronnie Kerns having to make a save. Atlanta United FC's Garret Short got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 33 minutes into the game, Oren Lundy recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Del Pennington. Oren Lundy showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emery Lentz in the 39th minute of play forced Dade City's goalkeeper Ronnie Kerns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emery Lentz to strike the kick off in the second half. If Garret Short had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Del Pennington took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oren Lundy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Atlanta United FC's Del Pennington played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oren Lundy in the 70th minute of play. Jason Hollandsworth hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Jarrod Foote took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Del Pennington. Atlanta United FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 77 played minutes Atlanta United FC got a freekick which was hit by Jason Hollandsworth. After having played for 78 minutes, Oren Lundy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dade City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oren Lundy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Reggie Garrett's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Del Pennington was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Oren Lundy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Oren Lundy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Del Pennington having to interfere. Clinton Briggs kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Emery Lentz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ronnie Kerns came out and tried to block the shot, but Emery Lentz slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 88th minute. Reggie Garrett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 98th minute, Oren Lundy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Atlanta United FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
