Des Plaines River Rats's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roscoe Hughes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The supporters of Harmony booed when Des Plaines River Rats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leif Combs didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Roscoe Hughes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Des Plaines River Rats getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Jarod Godwin hit a great ball. In the 26th minute Glen Ewing shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but C.J. Herrera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. C.J. Herrera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lenny Monroe in the 27th minute of the match. When Lenny Monroe came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Des Plaines River Rats fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lenny Monroe couldn't finish the play. Lenny Monroe took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised C.J. Herrera. C.J. Herrera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Vince Velazquez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roscoe Hughes in the 39th minute. In the 44thth minute of the game Sergio Conner who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Des Plaines River Rats's Vince Velazquez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sergio Conner to make the kick off. The attack was good, but when Sergio Conner in the 57th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Roscoe Hughes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vince Velazquez having to interfere. Vince Velazquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergio Conner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roscoe Hughes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Vince Velazquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vince Velazquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergio Conner in the 63rd minute of the match. 64 minutes into the match, Roscoe Hughes notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Des Plaines River Rats's Vince Velazquez. Vince Velazquez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lenny Monroe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without C.J. Herrera having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, Harmony's Sergio Conner sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vince Velazquez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sergio Conner in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vince Velazquez saved Des Plaines River Rats from getting behind. Sergio Conner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 80thth minute of the game Sergio Conner who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Des Plaines River Rats's Vince Velazquez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 85 played minutes Harmony got a freekick which was hit by Lionel Montoya. 88 minutes into the game, Nicholas Rutledge was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Harmony's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Des Plaines River Rats the free kick. Nicholas Rutledge hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. 95 minutes into the match, Harmony's goalkeeper C.J. Herrera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Glen Ewing. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Harmony fans cheered their team off the field, for while Des Plaines River Rats had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
