Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) Calvin Huggins's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vince Velazquez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. With a little luck, Spring Hill FC's Jeff Brantley got control of the ball when Glen Ewing tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rene Ng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeff Brantley having to interfere. 17 minutes into the game, Spring Hill FC's Calvin Huggins nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vince Velazquez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Jeff Brantley made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jarod Godwin in the 23rd minute. In the 25th minute of the match Des Plaines River Rats got a corner. Spring Hill FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sylvester Cunningham ran over to the corner to take the kick. Sylvester Cunningham made a great header on Des Plaines River Rats's corner, it was just that Spring Hill FC's Jeff Brantley managed to reach the ball for a save. 27 minutes into the match, Des Plaines River Rats's goal looked a bit too open when Calvin Huggins came free, but Vince Velazquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 29 minutes, Jeff Brantley successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Spring Hill FC's zone, Glen Ewing stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeff Brantley came out of the goal and Glen Ewing tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lenny Monroe in the 32nd minute of play forced Spring Hill FC's goalkeeper Jeff Brantley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Calvin Huggins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Vince Velazquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Garret Page had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vince Velazquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Calvin Huggins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Spring Hill FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Calvin Huggins to strike the kick off in the second half. Spring Hill FC's Garret Page got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 53 played minutes Des Plaines River Rats got a freekick which was hit by Jarod Godwin. 54 minutes into the match, Des Plaines River Rats's goal looked a bit too open when Calvin Huggins came free, but Vince Velazquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Glen Ewing recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 56th match minute, Spring Hill FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kris McCormick to maneuver through the defense. Calvin Huggins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Garret Page came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Spring Hill FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Garret Page couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lenny Monroe in the 64th minute of play forced Spring Hill FC's goalkeeper Jeff Brantley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute, Alonso Pereira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Calvin Huggins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Vince Velazquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alonso Pereira lost his temper 77 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. When the match had been going on for 79 minutes, Spring Hill FC's Lonnie Thurman got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Vince Velazquez. Garret Page sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th match minute, Des Plaines River Rats was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rene Ng to maneuver through the defense. Calvin Huggins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vince Velazquez having to interfere. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Spring Hill FC's goalkeeper Jeff Brantley, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 96th minute Glen Ewing shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeff Brantley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jarod Godwin hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Spring Hill FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
