In the 27th minute, Peter Pruett fired away a shot that was totally unreachable for Leroy Wheeler. The ball ended up just outside the left post, and FC Barcelona's manager could be seen angrily pacing the sidelines. Angelo Montgomery fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rusty Collins having to interfere. If Peter Pruett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half LV Toros FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After a rather tough play, FC Barcelona's Morgan Hankins got a free kick in the 51st minute. Josiah Beyer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Peter Pruett's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leroy Wheeler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. In the 93rd minute Angelo Montgomery shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rusty Collins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Barcelona's Markus Huber got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
