Downingtown's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodrick Frederick was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Dane Trent fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored East Falmouth's protests and gave Dane Trent a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Downingtown booed when East Falmouth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dane Trent didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Downingtown fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when Downingtown's Rodrick Frederick looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 16th minute of the match Rory Stockton sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Robby Cummings skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Ronald Saenz managed to get in a good position for a shot. East Falmouth's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronald Saenz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robby Cummings breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Downingtown's goalkeeper Robby Cummings, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ronald Saenz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Robby Cummings having to make a save. In the 27th minute, Daren Avila hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th minute, Ronald Saenz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Robby Cummings was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Rodrick Frederick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th minute, Palmer Wheeler ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Timmy Guy was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. When Julio Spaulding fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Downingtown's protests and gave Julio Spaulding a yellow card for diving instead. After 39 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Downingtown! Timmy Guy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrick Frederick in the 45th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Downingtown's zone, Dane Trent stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robby Cummings came out of the goal and Dane Trent tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Palmer Wheeler stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Timmy Guy was a little too slow when Palmer Wheeler got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 54th minute. The score was now 3-3. If Palmer Wheeler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute, Curt Camacho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The East Falmouth fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-3. Rodrick Frederick's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Timmy Guy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. If Palmer Wheeler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Palmer Wheeler might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Timmy Guy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Palmer Wheeler ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodrick Frederick got free with Timmy Guy in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 79th minute, Bradly Langston hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 80 minutes into the match, East Falmouth's Aldo Braxton broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The supporters of Downingtown booed when East Falmouth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dustin Giles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rodrick Frederick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute, Curt Camacho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Downingtown players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for East Falmouth.
