Spectators: 7732 (Terracing: 5800, Seating: 1778, VIP seats: 154) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Kurtis Thomason got the match started through his kick off. In the 4thth minute of the game Kasey Blake who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FLORIDA FC's Von Jewell was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 5 minutes into the game, Blake Oakley cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Von Jewell was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Blake Oakley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FLORIDA FC's Von Jewell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kasey Blake in the 11th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in FLORIDA FC's zone, Kasey Blake stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Von Jewell came out of the goal and Kasey Blake tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Blake Oakley blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Von Jewell having to make a save. The supporters of SL FIRES booed when FLORIDA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wally Coats didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kasey Blake fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Von Jewell having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Blake Oakley managed to get in a good position for a shot. SL FIRES's supporters rose to their feet, but Blake Oakley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Von Jewell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 22nd match minute, SL FIRES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sanford Pierce to maneuver through the defense. The FLORIDA FC fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when FLORIDA FC's Arturo Vega looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. SL FIRES's Ricardo Shannon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kurtis Thomason in the 32nd minute of play. SL FIRES's Ricardo Shannon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save SL FIRES from getting a goal against them. When Cameron Harman fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SL FIRES's protests and gave Cameron Harman a yellow card for diving instead. Cameron Harman hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. If Kurtis Thomason had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Kasey Blake made the kick off in the second half. Ricardo Shannon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Vega in the 57th minute of play. Kasey Blake was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 58th minute. SL FIRES's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kasey Blake during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Kasey Blake hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. SL FIRES's Ricardo Shannon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kurtis Thomason in the 65th minute of play. Kurtis Thomason fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Shannon having to interfere. If Arturo Vega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kasey Blake in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Von Jewell prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cameron Harman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Von Jewell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Kasey Blake came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the SL FIRES fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kasey Blake couldn't finish the play. In the 83rdth minute of the game Kasey Blake who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FLORIDA FC's Von Jewell was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Arturo Vega sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Renato Sears hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match.
