Jose Galvan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lázaro Criston having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ty McCullough during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ty McCullough kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. If Jose Galvan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 10th minute, Juan Cates left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Centurions FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Blaine Rafferty took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Cates, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Hokie Nation getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Micah Beatty hit a great ball. Will Sharpe kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Jarvis Duke's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 19thth minute, Lázaro Criston skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a defensive mix-up in Hokie Nation's zone, Juan Cates stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Blaine Rafferty came out of the goal and Juan Cates tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 23 minutes into the game, Juan Cates cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Blaine Rafferty was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Centurions FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Ty McCullough hit a great ball. Lázaro Criston made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jarvis Duke in the 29th minute. With a little luck, Centurions FC's Lázaro Criston got control of the ball when Jarvis Duke tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Juan Cates managed to get in a good position for a shot. Centurions FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan Cates was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Blaine Rafferty breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Blaine Rafferty showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Cates, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 37th match minute, Centurions FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heriberto Cohen to maneuver through the defense. If Juan Cates had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jose Galvan to make the kick off. Blaine Rafferty made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurt Sawyer in the 56th minute of play. After having played for 58 minutes, Juan Cates managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Centurions FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juan Cates was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ignacio Carrier charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ignacio Carrier the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 0-4 became the score in the 66th minute when Juan Cates elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Kurt Sawyer did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-5 to the left of a surprised Blaine Rafferty 70 minutes into the match. Blaine Rafferty showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurt Sawyer, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Blaine Rafferty made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juan Cates in the 75th minute. Heriberto Cohen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Centurions FC's Juan Cates got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Will Sharpe hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Blaine Rafferty came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Centurions FC's Juan Cates. But to his dismay, Juan Cates quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. Juan Cates struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Blaine Rafferty didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Centurions FC. 96 minutes into the match, Hokie Nation's goal looked a bit too open when Will Sharpe came free, but Blaine Rafferty reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Centurions FC getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Juan Cates hit a great ball. Centurions FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
